This week, we learned that Timmy Jernigan was invited to the NFL Draft, which is a clear signal that he is expected to be taken in the first round.
I'm told Florida State players invited to the NFL Draft will be Kelvin Benjamin and Tim Jernigan. Go Noles! Draft begins May 8th. #FSUVoice

This is no surprise. Jernigan was quite possibly the best player on the best defense last year. He may not have been the vocal (see, e.g., Telvin Smith and Lamarcus Joyner), but he was likely the most talented. There's a reason he is being coveted and targeted by several NFL teams. NFL teams are probably overlooking him because he may not be "big enough" but I don't think you can doubt his strength. You also can't doubt the fact that he can play all three downs which means you save roster space for another position of need. Sure, we're a bit biased here at ChantRant, but Timmy Jernigan is a first rounder and we wish him well.
Jernigan will probably go down in FSU's books as the most disruptive defensive tackle to wear garnet and gold.
