As a member of the 2013 class, we're assuming he's 15. For all we know he might be 14.
He's Reginald Carter, a defensive end for the Stephenson Jaguars in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and obviously a growing boy at 6-2, 230. Carter moved from South Florida to the Atlanta area as a freshman. And FSU's is the first of what should be plenty of offers for a guy we'll be hearing a lot more about -- right up until signing day two years from now.
One reason is because Carter plays for a program drawing college recruiters like fleas on Fido. Eleven Stephenson players signed FBS scholarships this year alone. The gators just got a commitment from Mike Davis, a 2012 running back, who the Noles also offered.
While recruiting a 15-year old may seem a bit like cradle robbing, it's also a savvy move for FSU to get a jump on all the other schools targeting Carter. To put it in perspective, Carter is practically a seasoned veteran compared to offering a 13-year old, which Lane Kiffin has -- twice.
