Live from the bay area (San Francisco, not Tampa-St. Pete): It's high school football on ESPN2. Tomorrow night catch Lakeland High School traveling to the Golden State to clash with left coast powerhouse De La Salle. Kickoff is 10pm Eastern on The Deuce.
Lakeland features the passing and running of FSU-bound Jarred "Scooter" Haggins. The young QB has been nursing some injuries the past two weeks, but is reported to be healthy for this one.
For a sneak preview of Scooter in action, watch his sophomore highlight reel. Here's more from Sunshine Preps.
And check out this interview with Haggins. He talks about why he chose FSU and what position he plans to play (his choice, he says). Also, if you didn't already know, Jarred's last name sounds familiar for a good reason: He's the nephew of long-time Nole D-line coach, Odell Haggins.
Is Jarred living up to the hype so far this season? Well, his stats are limited, due to injury and because his team is rolling up scores that take him out of games early. In the Dreadnaughts first three games they've outscored opponents 184 - 7.
Look out, De La Salle.
