Dead Man Walking - Tommy Bowden is toast. Short of winning the rest of Clemson's game and a BCS Bowl, or walking on water (whichever comes first), another Bowden boy will bite the dust. Tiger fans are livid after their sky-high pre-season dreams were squashed like road kill. Did you catch how uptight Tommy was before kickoff? Too bad it trickled down to the team. They were as ready for prime time as an "American Idol" reject. Still, does anybody expect the Tigers to still be shell-shocked when they come to Doak for another Father-Son showdown?
What a difference a year makes - Could that really be the Bama team that made FSU look like world beaters last year? Hardly. An infusion of talent and take-no-prisoners attitude has Bama marching to a different beat. The lesson: recruiting, determination and coaching can create an extreme makeover. Now it's Jimbo's turn.
What a difference a year makes II - Colorado is another team that took a giant step. What once looked like a trap game in Jacksonville -- a week after the pivotal showdown with Wake -- is now a full-fledged hurdle. And with a trip to Miami the following week, what a bummer one of those I-AA opponents couldn't have been scheduled more strategically.
JoPa catches Bobby in the homestretch - Not to open old wounds, but somebody has to say it. Would it even be a race if Bowden had hired a different Off. Coordinator when Mark Richt departed?
