Like in this interview with Andrew Carter of the O-Sentinel. Amato rambles about the pain of getting whacked at his alma mater. And when asked if he's happier now than he was a year ago, Chuck answers: "No, I can't say that." Sounds like The Chest needs to spend a little time on Dr. Amalfi's couch and work on all these conflicted feelings. And speaking of conflicted...
Meanwhile, back in Raleigh. It's a love/hate affair among N.C. State fans. But the guys at Red and White from State are giving a nasty come-to-your-senses slap across the face to any fans with a warm spot for the big guy in the wacky shoes and sunglasses.
Here's an excerpt: "Like the debate as which is the REAL Elvis, young, pre-Army Elvis or fat, pill-popping Vegas Elvis, NC State's fanbase fails to reconcile who and what Chuck Amato was for NC State football. Despite seeing a 1 - 4 start in 2007 and evidence that the team is in worse shape today than it was in 1999, many Wolfpackers refuse to accept that this was the result of Amato football. Sadly, Amato failed to live up to our dreams, but our dreams for football greatness should not be contained within a pompous clown...even one, who is an alum."
Ouch. These guys better hope that Chuck doesn't have a list of hitmen in his Rolodex.
