Highlights from Bobby Bowden's ACC Media Conference Call.
(On making changes)
"I asked my coaches, 'are y'all wanting to make any personnel changes?' And the answer was, 'not yet. We're gonna see what happens this week.' Which usually means no."
(On the defense shutting down Colorado)
"The most encouraging thing about last week was our defense really looked like the defense of old. But still, we've got a lot of tests before we can make that statement."
(On Drew Weatherford's play)
"We've got more piled on him than he's ever had in his life. Jimbo's offense is pretty sophisticated. His numbering system, his checkoffs... It's another step up, to be honest with you, from what he (Drew) is used to. And his mind is just full of thoughts. And I think he'll get better and better and better with it. Last week he ran a handoff and spun around the wrong way. Ran another handoff and rolled out the wrong way. He's got so much on his mind that he'll make little mistakes. But overall, I think he's playing good enough for us to win."
(On mistakes killing the offense)
"Let's say you run a play, and you run off tackle. And you lose three yards. Oh, man. They're so bad. They're so bad. And then you go back and look at the film, and you see that one guy went the wrong way...if you'd got him instead of him we'd have scored. And so then you get your senses back. We've just gotta correct mistakes."
