Nole fans who live for the day FSU bails from the ACC usually focus on the dollar gap between the Tobacco Road league and deep pocket teams in the SEC and Big 10. Now comes news that commissioner John Swofford may be more wily than woeful as a wheeler-dealer:
"For the ACC, it potentially could allow the conference to keep up financially with the Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC, which have all launched or are close to launching branded channels, and sources say the conference sees it as an enticement to keep schools from being seduced by other conferences."
If Swofford can make this happen, it could be the equivalent of FSU, and every other cash-strapped team in the league, winning the lottery.
